I help people in longtime relationships break free from painful cycles of conflict that have left them feeling stuck in a rut for years.
Learn HowI’m Doctor Kristina Harter, and I have been working with couples as a reseacher and clinical psychologist for more than two decades. In that time, I have observed two essential truths for struggling couples. First, couples who have become stuck in a rut are there because they have become trapped, repeating the same core conflict over and over again. And second, that is good news. Because it means there is ONE essential problem to identify and solve, and with the right knowledge, tools and support, motivated couples can and do readily get unstuck!
Everything worthwhile in our lives requires our attention and investment. With a the right kind of investment and care, you will rediscover the intimacy, connection and fun in your marriage or long-term partnership.

Coaching is Not Therapy
The Unstuck Marriage is an educational course and is not a substitute for therapy, though the training can be used in conjunction with psychotherapy. The following is a list of indicators that should help you determine if further support might be necessary.
- Mental Health Concerns: If you are experiencing significant symptoms of depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues that are affecting your ability to function, you might want to find a therapist in your community.
- Substance abuse: If you are struggling with substance abuse or addiction, it is important to seek treatment from an addiction specialist.
- Past trauma: If you have experienced significant trauma in the past, which is untreated, it may be important to seek treatment from a trauma specialist.
- Lack of Safety: Your safety is also an essential priority; if you are experiencing abuse, call the domestic violence hotline at 800-799-7233 (SAFE).
